This one is for comparing and contrasting particular stories

1.) Using a venn diagram, the students will distinguish the similarities and differences between the story The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, and the story The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. The students will demonstrate prior knowledge of the story, The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf through class discussion. Have students sit down and ask the class who has heard of the story The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. Ask questions about what only happened in the three little pigs story and write one answer in that circle. Ask what only happened in the three little wolves story and write one answer in that circle. 

Then ask what happened in both stories and write one answer in the joint part of the circle. The students will be assessed on their knowledge of the story The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf through questioning during class discussion. The students should display accurate information about the story. The students will be evaluated on their understanding of the concept of comparing and contrasting the two stories through their ability to create an accurate venn diagram. One alternative strategy would be to have the class present a puppet show comparing and contrasting the two stories. 

Half the class could act out one story and the other half could act out the other story. Then each side could discuss what was different and what was the same between the story they acted out and the story the other half of the class acted out.
